Top Maoist leader remanded to judicial custody in AP
Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 6 (UNI) Arrested CPI (Maoist) leader N Panduranga Reddy alias Sagar was today remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by the Markapuram First Class Magistrate Court.
The Prakasham district police produced Sagar, the Prakasham and Guntur districts Maoist party Secretary, before the Magistrate, amid tight security.
The naxal leader was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Dornala Mandal Parishad President Subbarangaiah. His wife Mery alias Madhavi was also picked up.
Sagar, carrying a reward of Rs three lakh on his head, hailed from Laxmipuram village in Prakasham district and had joined the Maoist party in 1992.
