Telgi, three others plead guilty

Chennai, Dec 6 (UNI) Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the multi-crore stamp paper scam, and three other accused in the case today pleaded guilty before CBI Special Judge R Velu.

When the case came up for hearing, Telgi, along with two others, Abdul Wahid and Jacob Chacko, lodged in Yerwada jail in Pune, were produced before the Judge through video conferencing, during which they pleaded guilty. The other accused, Balaji, who was lodged in Bangalore prison, also pleaded guilty through video conferencing.

Following this, the Judge posted the case to December 18 for delivering judgment.

Meanwhile, other accused -- former CB-CID DIG Mohammed Ali, DSP Shankar and LIC agent Ramaswamy Sadhu -- who have already pleaded not guilty, appeared before the court. The trial in respect of them would be held separately.

The judge recorded their presence and directed all the accused to appear before the court on December 18.
