Reliance Energy bids for Rs 30,000 crore expressway in UP

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Reliance Energy today said it has submitted the bid for the construction of Rs 30,000 crore Ganga Expressway project, which is 1,047 km-long, linking Greater Noida to Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.

''Today, we have submitted the bid for Rs 30,000 crore expressway,'' Reliance said in a statement here.

The city-based real estate developer DLF is learnt to be among 18 bidders which have submitted the pre-qualification bids for the project on the last day today.

Other bidders include GMR Group and JP Associates for the Ganga Expressway project.

The project is a eight lane access controlled expressway which will be divided into four packages, it added.

The four package includes Greater Noida to Fatehgarh including Farrukhabad Link (253 km) at Rs 7,631 crore, Fatehgarh to Dalmau (Rai Bareli) including Lucknow Link (305 km) at Rs 8,012 crore.

The Dalmau (Rai Bareli) to Aurai (Bhadoi) including Mirzapur Link (211 km) is estimated at Rs 6,124 crore and Aurai (Bhadoi) to Balia (278 km) at Rs 8,058 crore.

The project will be developed on public private partnership (PPP) model, which includes construction of marginal embankment along left bank of river Ganga to mitigate the flooding problem and construction of roadway above the embankment as expressway.

Pradeshiya Industrial and Investment Corporation of UP Ltd is the nodal agency for conducting the international competitive bidding.
