Petrotech Society inks pact with Canada's Alberta University

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) State-owned ONGC today said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Canada's Alberta University for academic exchanges.

Under the MoU, the signatories will exchange academic information, conduct academic programs and synergize respective strengths to promote closer business and professional exchanges between the two bodies, company statement said.

Among other areas, specialised programs on Drilling as well as Clean Coal Technology have been identified.

Mr R S Sharma, Chairman, Petrotech Society and CMD, ONGC signed the pact with Alberta University represented Dr Indira Samarasekera, President&Vice Chancellor, University of Alberta here yesterday.

The collaborative projects between the Petrotech Society and the University of Alberta are aimed at meeting India's growing energy demands, Mr R S Sharma said.

He reiterated ONGC's commitment to ensure energy security to India by looking for both conventional and non-conventional energy sources.
