People of Ayodhya await peace

Ayodhya, Dec 6: Fed up of the political moves over the vexed Ayodhya issue, the locals said they wanted a permanent solution to the matter. After 15 years, the locals believe only a permanent solution into the issue could return normalcy to their lives.

''Arson, curfew and road blockage have now become our destiny,'' the locals said. Irrespective of religion, residents of Ayodhya now wanted to live a peaceful life, they added.

'' We are eager for peace...on any untoward incident, the minority are moved to safer places from here,'' Mohd Jameel Ahmad, a local, said.

Anvari, wife of post-demolition incidents victim, said, '' dispite the fact that my husband died in this dispute...I cannot even think to leave the place.'' ''Outsiders killed my husband...but it was the support extended by the local people that I am surving with my five children today...It was the Hindus, who save my children,'' she added.

''I hope a solution is reached early, so that further untoward incidents are averted,'' she said.
