MP EOW registers FIR on land scam

Bhopal, Dec 6 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered an FIR about a land scam relating to acquisition of government land worth crores of rupees in posh localities here through forged signatures.

EOW sources said the case was registered under sections 447, 448, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120(b) of the Indian Penal Code.

District and Sessions Judge Renu Sharma informed the High Court that some judges' signatures were forged. The High Court's Vigilance Wing and the District and Sessions Court probed the matter and then wrote to the EOW for a detailed inquiry.

Some Revenue Department officials, builders, lawyers and certain other people connived to acquire the land in Maharana Pratap Nagar, Shyamla Hills and other localities.

The courts' report to the EOW mentioned 11 such cases.
