Indo-German joint venture for welding solution centre

Kolkata, Dec 6(UNI) Lorch Welding Technique GmbH(Ltd), Aauenwald, Germany and Ellenabrrie Industrial Gases Ltd, today announced a joint venture to set up a welding solution centre at Uluberia in West Bengal.

The centre, to be first of its kind in the country, would provide welding solutions to the engineering segments, including automotive manufacturing, wagon building, stainless steel, aluminium users and all organisations involved in sophisticated metal construction.

In the first phase, the JV, with 49 and 51 per cent equity ratio respectively in favour of the German and the Indian companies, would set up a welding solution centre, which would be built with the state of the art facilities. The centre will work with welders to upgrade their basic skills, which would improve productivity, reduce rejections and improve quality of welding.

Besides, the centre would also train entry-level welders who are in short supply in the state.
