High alert in Delhi on 15th anniversary of Babri demolition
New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) A high alert was today sounded in the national capital on the 15th anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
According to the Delhi police, six militants sneaked into the capital from Loni border in Shahdara on Tuesday night to carry out attacks.
''Intelligence Bureau inputs say that some people entered Delhi on Tuesday suspectedly with an intention to carry out terror attacks in the city,''Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.
The militants, six in number, are said to have entered the city in a white ambassador.
In the wake of the IB warning, security has been heightened across the national capital with police barricades put up along all important crossways and a thorough screening of vehicles was being done.
A few days ago too, an alert was issued by intelligence agencies about the possibility of militants carrying out strikes in the coming two weeks.
