GNDU becomes North-Zone Inter-Varsity Youth Festival Champion

Amritsar, Dec 6 (UNI) Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) lifted the overall Inter-Varsity Youth Festival Trophy in the North-Zone Inter-University Youth Festival concluded at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, last evening.

GNDU also annexed four trophies out of five in Music, Literary, Theatre and Fine Arts Trophies in the festival. The festival was sponsored by the Association of Indian Universities.

GNDU Youth Welfare Director Baljit Singh Sekhon along with the students received the trophies from UP Higher Education chief secretary A L Mishra.

GNDU represented the North Zone in 25 different competitions and bagged 13 first positions, five second positions and two third-positions.

Mr Sekhon said that the University would also participate in the All India Inter-University Youth Festival to be organised at Shivaji University, Kohlapur from January 20 to 24 in which 18 teams of GNDU would be taking part.
