Criminals shoot dead farmer in Banka

Banka, Dec 6 (UNI) Armed criminals shot dead a farmer after looting property worth Rs three lakh from his house at Kirolia under Barhat police station in the district.

Police Superintendent D N Gupta said here today that a group of armed criminals entered the house of Ghanshyam last night and started looting and plundering, creating panic among villagers for several hours.

Faced with resistance the dacoits shot dead the farmer.

Meanwhile, the officer in-charge of Barhat police station was suspended with immediate effect and search was on to nab the criminals, Mr Gupta added.
