Contribute liberally to Flag Day fund: Pondy CM

Puducherry, Dec 6 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today called for liberal contribution to the Flag Day fund.

In a message on the eve of the Flag Day, Mr Rangasamy said Rs 24.93 lakh was collected last year, which was 8.15 per cent higher than previous year's collection.

Mr Rangasamy said it was the duty of each and every citizen to support the families of service personnel, who sacrificed their lives to protect the country.

He said the administration had allocated Rs 25 lakh in the current budget for the welfare of ex-service men.

Lt Governor Mukut Mithi also called for liberal contribution.
