Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar commences operation at two UP plants

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar and Industries Ltd today said it has started operations of its two new sugar plants in Uttar Pradesh.

With the commencement of these plants -- 7,000 TCD plant at Rudauli in Basti district -- and 15,000 TCD plant at Kunderki in Gonda district, the aggregate operating capacity of the company during the current sugar season has increased to 28,000 TCD from earlier 6,000 TCD, a company statement said.

Majority of the project work on the third new sugar plant of 12000 TCD at Utraula in district Balrampur has also been completed and the same will also become operational during the ongoing sugar season 2007-08. In aggregate, the total sugar crushing capacity would be 40,000 TCD.

In addition, the newly-set up 160 KL per day capacity distillery of the company at Rudauli in Basti district, having facility to manufacture ethanol has also commenced operations, the statement added.
