Babri anniversary peaceful in Pondy

Puducherry, Dec 6 (UNI) No untoward incident was reported from any region of the Union Territory of Puducherry on the 15th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid today.

According to police, passengers at railway stations and bus bays were frisked and similar security drills were adopted at places of worship too.

Meanwhile, volunteers of the Thouhit Jamaad organised a demonstration in front of the Head Post Office here, condemning the 1992 demolition of the Masjid.

The agitators, including women, shouted slogans in support of the restoration of the razed structure.
