APCC secretary Srinivasa Rao resigns

Vijayawada, Dec 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) secretary B Srinivasa Rao today resigned from the post.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Rao said he had faxed the resignation letter to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy and APCC (incharge) president G S Rao.

Mr Srinivasa Rao said he took the decision to quit the Congress after Telugu actor Chiranjeevi assured that he would enter politics by launching a new political party.

Mr Chiranjeevi would formally launch the party at Hyderbad on January 21 in the presence of lakhs of his supporters, Mr Rao added.

In connection with the launch of new party, public meetings would be held in Krishna district and Khammm in the next three days.
