50 planes to participate in IAF field execise in Pokaran

Jodhpur, Dec 6 (UNI) 50 fighter aircrafts, including Sukhoi-30, MiG-21, Mirage-2000 transport plane Gajraj and Mi-30 helicopters, will participate in Indian Airforce(IAF) field exercise in Pokhran field firing range in the border district of Jaisalmer on December 8.

Defence Minister AK Antony, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshall HF Major and several dignitaries will witness the excerise aimed at testing of accuracy of the IAF planes and personnel in undertaking air to land warfares.

These planes would take off from different air bases including Delhi and Ahmedabad to hit fake targets in Mahajan Field Firing range in Pokaran, an IAF Spokesman said here.
