Unidentified persons kill 2 criminals in Pune

Pune, Dec 4 (UNI) Unidentified persons attacked and killed two criminals, including a history-sheeter, at Parvati here tonight over an old rivalry.

Police have identified the deceased as Indrajit Dattatray Jadavar (19) and Dileep Khirad (21).

Both Jadavar and Khirad were sitting in the former's house situated at Janata Vasahat, near Parvati, when a group of 3-4 unknown persons barged into his house and allegedly assaulted the duo with sharp weapons, killing Jadavar on the spot, sources in the police control room said here, adding an old enmity could be the motive behind the attack.

Khirad, who was grievously injured in the attack, was rushed to a nearby KEM Hospital but died before admission.

Jadavar, a history-sheeter, was lodged in Yerawada Central Jail before his release on bail on December 2.

Tension prevailed in the area following the duo's murder, and security has been hightened there, sources said.

No arrest has been made so far, they added.
