Two naxalite arrested in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Dec 5 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) and the local police today arrested two Naxalites and seized some weapons from them in a combing operation here.

Malkangiri's Superintendent of Police S K Gojbhiye said the two outlaws- identified as Sana Madhi from Chidapali and Basant Kumar Kawasi from Koyapali - were arrested while pasting posters at Sikhapali to mark the People Guerilla Army (PGA) week celebration.

Mr Gojbjiye said the two, belonged to the Balimela group, were also asking the people to participate in the PGA week celebration.

Both of them were forwarded to the court today.

The security personnel during another combing operation at Motu area in the district on November 27 had seized two clay more mines, two land mines, six detonators, one pistol, a long pressure mine and some wires. The SOG and the CRPF jawans swung into action acting on a tip off provided by a one Dulla, a Naxalite, who recently surrendered before the police with arms and ammunition.
