TN reintroduces 'Namakku Name' scheme

Karur, Dec 5 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has reintroduced 'Namakku Naame' scheme in Karur district under which a group of people have to bear one-third of the project cost and two-thirds contribution will come from the government, according to District Collector T N Venkatesh.

In a release here today, he said development works, including construction of government school buildings, compound walls for schools, laboratories, hospitals, primary health centres, veterinary clinics, libraries, drinking water facilities, fair price shops, bus shelters and cement roads, could be taken up under the scheme.

He said if the contribution exceeds 50 per cent, then the contributing group could itself be entrusted with the job.

Self Help Groups, private institutions, voluntary organisations and private institutions could contact the district administration to know about the specific nature of work and contribution.
