Three killed, three injured in road accident

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 5 (UNI) Three people were killed on the spot and three others seriously injured, when a van in which they were travelling collided head-on with a lorry near Siruganur on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway early today.

Police said the van was proceeding to Chennai from Thanjavur while the lorry was coming in the opposite direction when the accident occurred.

The deceased were yet to be identified and the bodies were sent to Government Headquarters Hospital here for a post-mortem.

The injured were admitted to a private hospital in the city, police added.
