3 booked for misappropriation of Rs 50 lakh

Nagpur, Dec 5: The police today booked three employees of Government Medical College and Hospital here for allegedly misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 50 lakh.

According to the police, the employees, identified as N K Deshpande, L R Kulkarni (Administrative Officer) and Gopal Raghunath Yadav (cashier), embezzled Rs 49.72 lakh between November 1, 2003, and September 3, 2007, while working in Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) in the city.

Acting on a complaint from the Dean, an offence has been registered under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the three, the police added.
