Sri Dashmesh Academy to be developed : Badal

Chandigarh, Dec 5 (UNI) Sri Dashmesh Academy, Anandpur Sahib, would be developed as number one educational institute in the country.

A decision to this effect was taken by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while presiding over a meeting of the Sri Dashmesh Academy Trust here today.

Mr Badal asked the trustees to chalk out a comprehensive plan for successful running of the academy in a self-sustained manner and to fully utilize the world class infrastructure available in the academy.

The Chief Minister deputed his Special Principal Secretary S S Sandhu to study various aspects, including financial and administrative, of the academy and formulate an action plan for its improvement.

Mr Badal announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh to carry out necessary development works of the academy and to launch an effective publicity campaign to attract students in the next session.

To utilize the experience and expertise of Lt General (Retd) G S Dhaliwal, it was decided in the meeting to request him to join Sri Dashmesh Academy Trust as new trustee.

Prominent amongst the trustees who were present in the meeting included Mr Surjit Singh Rakhara, Capt A J S Grewal, Mrs Satwinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, Principal A K Sharma.
