Police identify mastermind

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) Police have identified one prisoner on parole as the mastermind behind a bomb-hurling incident at Vanarapet on December one, DIG Vasudeva Rao said today.

Mr Rao told reporters here that one Manikandan was the mastermind in the attack on the house of Ganesh of Vanarapet. As many as 16 people were involved in it and three were still at large.

Police were probing if the incident had any link with the recent bomb blast in the same locality.

Manikandan was said to have planned the attack over phone. A warrant is now required to take him into custody, Mr Rao added.
