LJP yet to decide on contesting Bikramganj Parliamentary bypoll

Patna, Dec 4: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chief and Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said his party was yet to decide on contesting the byelection to Bikramganj Parliamentary seat slated for December 29.

Mr Paswan told reporters here that initially his party had decided not to contest byelection as there was uncertainty over the stability of the UPA government at the Centre.

The situation had changed and there was no possibility of the fall of the UPA government without completing its term, and so the LJP was now exploring the possibility of contesting the Lok Sabha seat, he added.

When asked about the selection of candidate for the byelection, Mr Paswan it would be done once the party decides whether it would contest.
