Ex-servicemen Assn to stage demo in Pondy

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) The Ex-servicemen Association here would organise a black flag demonstration near the Kargil war memorial on Flag Day (December seven) to condemn the alleged corruption by the Sainik Welfare Board.

Association general secretary Mr Narayansami, in a statement today alleged that the Board had not met the demand of ex-servicemen for providing house site pattas and job opportunities.

The board had deposited more than Rs two crore collected through the flag day collections in banks as fixed deposit instead of utilising it for the welfare of the ex-servicemen, he charged.
