CITU demands separate regulation for working class
Agartala, Dec 5 (UNI) The Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) has demanded that a separate law for the working class in unorganised sector be formulated and threatened to launch a movement against the authorities 'reluctant' attitude in implementing labour laws.
Addressing a public rally here today, CITU President Dr M K Pande criticised the UPA government for promoting private investment in public sectors and encouraging foreign investment.
He said the poor enforcement of labour laws in organised sector posed to be a threat to the development of the working class and warned that his party would launch a movement if the Centre did not take care of the labour class as per the common minimum programme.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar addressing the rally claimed that despite continuous pressure and obstruction from the Centre, the state government has been trying to give benefit to the working class.
