Chill intensifies in Delhi, coldest morning in Capital at 7.3 Deg C

New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) The ongoing chill in the capital intensified today with the city witnessing the coldest morning of the winter season at 7.3 degree Celsius.

Cold Northwesterly winds continued to send Delhiites in a shiver, bringing down the minimum temperature from 9.4 degrees yesterday to 7.3 Degrees two degrees below normal.

The maximum temperature too recorded a drop, from 24.1 degrees yesterday to 23.6 degrees today, one degree below normal.

The chill is likely to persist tomorrow with the weathermen forecasting a drop in minimum temperature to 7 degrees tomorrow.

After nearly a week's respite, chilly conditions returned to the Capital yesterday with the minimum plummetting to 9.4 degrees yesterday.

The brief respite from chill last week was due to the influence of a Western disturbance which resulted in light showers on monday and the consequent rise in minimum temperature to 14 degrees, weathermen said.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of mist or shallow fog in the morning.
