Childless woman kills self

New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) A 24-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence in Defence Enclave area of Uttam Nagar of west Delhi last evening.

''The incident came to light when Sumitra's husband returned from his work. He brought her down and rushed to Aashirwad hospital in Uttam Nagar where the hospital authorities declared her brought dead,'' said police.

She was married to Manoj Kumar (25), working with a contractor of Reliance's power distribution company, two years ago and had no child from the marriage.

The deceased parents have not blamed any one for the suicide. They have also denied any dowry demands from Manoj and have maintained that the couple was happy together.

The parents of the deceased were informed by the in-laws of Sumitra.

The Sub- Divisional Magistrate is investigating the matter and a case has been registered at the Uttam Nagar police station.
