BJP's Shimla candidate confident of victory

Shimla, Dec 5 (UNI) Asserting that the BJP was united in Himachal Pradesh, party candidate from Shimla constituency Suresh Bhardwaj today expressed confidence that he would win from this assembly segment comfortably.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said the party was united in its mission to wrest this seat from the Congress, whose candidate had "failed" to live up to the expectations of the people of this historic town.

''The Congress's defeat is a foregone conclusion in Shimla following a very dull performance by its sitting legislator", he said, adding basic facilities to the residents of the town eluded.

Terming the state Congress Government's and Shimla Municipal Corporation's (SMC's) tenure as a ''blackspot'' on its history, he said they even failed to provide clean drinking water to the residents this year.

''The failure of the state government and the SMC to solve the water shortage in town has proved their inefficiency beyond doubt,'' he added.
