850 bottles of IMFL seized, one held

Chennai, Dec 5 (UNI) The Prohibition Enforcement wing Police have arrested a person and seized 850 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) allegedly smuggled from Puducherry today.

Police said the man was selling the liquor illegally at his house in suburban Madipakkam.

The officials intercepted a two-wheeler rider during vehicle check and found some liquor bottles in it. On questioning, the person Mohammed Askar said he was coming from Puducherry and smuggled the bottles with three of his associates from the Union Territory.

Police then raided his house and seized 400 numbers of 750 ml bottles and 450 180 ml bottles stocked in the house.

Police launched a manhunt to nab the trio from Puducherry.
