SIFAA to conduct mega star show despite attack on Tamils in Malaysia

Chennai, Dec 4 (UNI) The attack on ethnic Tamils in Malaysia notwithstanding, the South India Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) will go ahead with its mega star nite show in Malaysia on December 21 and in Singapore two days later.

Talking to reporters here, SIFAA President and actor Sarath Kumar said the recent protests by the Tamils in Malaysia against the Government would not hamper the show.

''We have invited Malaysian Minister Datto Samyvelu to be the Chief Guest for the event on December 21,'' he added.

He said all the prominent actors would participate in the star nite show, the proceeds of which would be utilised to construct a shopping complex at the Nadigar Sangam premises here and also to provide financial assistance to the under-priviliged members of the association.

Sarath Kumar said both Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan expressed their inability to take part in the celebrations due to prior commitments.
