Rs 1291 cr paid to Haryana farmers for paddy purchase

Chandigarh, Dec 4 (UNI) The Haryana government has made payment of Rs 1291.48 crore to the farmers for the purchase of their 17.81 MTs of paddy in the state so far out of the total arrival of 39.89 lakh MTs.

Stating this, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said HAFED had made payment of Rs 521.38 crore for the purchase of 7.19 lakh MTs of paddy while Food and Supplies Department had procured 5.63 lakh MTs on a payment of Rs 408.62 crore.

Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had disbursed a sum of Rs 162 crore to the farmers for the purchase of 2.23 lakh MTs of paddy and Confed had made the payment of Rs 148.51 crore to the farmers for the purchase of 2.04 lakh MTs.

Haryana Warehousing Corporation had purchased 60,028 MTs of paddy on payment of Rs 43.54 crore while Food Corporation of India had purchased 10,265 MTs of paddy and paid Rs 7.50 crore to the farmers.

Mr Chander Mohan said that out of total arrival, 25.98 lakh MTs of paddy was leviable while 13.90 lakh MTs was non leviable.
