Racket involved in piracy of embroidery designs smashed
New Delhi, Dec 4 (UNI) With the arrest of a man, the North District Police today claimed to have smashed a ring involved in piracy of embroidery designs on computer and recovered eight softwares worth Rs 17 lakhs and five CDs containing pirated software in the Sadar Bazar area.
Acting on a tip, a raid was conducted at Chamallian Road and Navi Hassan(30) was apprehended yesterday. The accused was also found to be in possession of eight softwares, five CDs, a laser printer, a scanner, two computers and control panels of two embroidery machines.
A case against him was registered under the Copyright Act at the Sadar Bazar police station. A hunt is on for the owner of the unit where Hassan was working as a superintendent.
Further investigations are on.
