Meghalaya fixes Rs 1,425 cr as next annual plan size

Shillong, Dec 4: Meghalaya government has decided to fix the annual plan size for the state for 2008-09 at Rs 1,425 crore at an increased rate of 25 per cent from the current year.

Chief Minister D D Lapang today said the plan size decided by the cabinet will be sent to the Planning Commission for its consideration.

The annual plan size of 2007-08 was Rs 1,120 crore. Mr Lapang said the cabinet has projected a 25 per cent increase in the plan allocation for the next fiscal compared to the current year.

Lapang said the main thrust of the state government will be on education and PWD sectors.
