Mumbai to recieve 'Apang Mitra' award
Kolhapur, Dec 4: The Consulate General of Japan and Mumbai have been selected for the ''Apang Mitra'' (friend of the handicapped) award instituted by the Helpers of the Handicapped (HH), Kolhapur.
Pune-based businessman, Divyanshu Ganatra, who is visually impaired, has also been selected for the ''Bharari'' (great fight) award by the institute.
Informing this to media here today, Helpers of the Handicapped President Naseema Hurzuk said that the Institute will receive funds from the Consulate General of Japan for the construction of a vocational training centre, a hostel for the physically challenged and a grant assistance scheme. In appreciation of this help, Consulate General of Japan and Mumbai have been selected for the ''Apang Mitra'' award.
Mr Ganatra, despite his disability has made great achievements in the field of business therefore, he has been selected for the ''Bharari'' award, she added.
The awards will be presented by film actor Nana Patekar and Sindhudurg District Superintendent of Police Dr Ravindra Shisave on the occasion of World Disables' Day function on December 8 at Swapna Nagari, Apang Sahayata Kendra near Kudal taluka of Sindhudurg district.
