Patna, Dec 4 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the doctors of the Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) not to go on an indefinite strike in the interest of patients as the state government had already increased their retirement age from 60 to 62 years and assured them to consider their other genuine demands as well.

Hearing a Public Interest petition filed in this connection, a division bench of the court, comprising acting Chief Justice Narain Roy and Justice K K Mandal, also directed the state government to file an affidavit stating its position on the other genuine demands of the agitating doctors, who had announced to go on an indefinite strike from tonight.

BHSA convener Dr Ajay Kumar said they did not want to proceed on the strike but the ''indifferent attitude'' of the state government towards their demands had forced them to take such an extreme decision.
