Haryana to promote tennis in big way: Hooda

Chandigarh, Dec 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said the State Government would promote sports in a big way, especially the game of tennis.

The Chief Minister, while speaking at the Annual Day function of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) in New Delhi last evening, lauded the role of AITA for popularising tennis in India.

Mr Hooda said he himself had a passion for the game of tennis.

AITA president Yashwant Sinha described Mr Hooda as a very keen player of tennis and said he used to play tennis five days in a week. He said under the dynamic leadership of Mr Hooda, a number of effective steps were being taken for promotion of sports in Haryana.

He also appreciated the All India Tennis Association for promoting tennis in India and all over Asia.

President of Asian Tennis Federation Anil Khanna also spoke on the occasion.
