ECI seeks report of last Tripura elections

Agartala, Dec 4 (UNI) Election Commission of India(ECI) has asked the state government to submit a detailed report of both administrative and security related record of the previous elections.

ECI held a meeting with the state chief electoral officer Dr G S G Ayyangar last week in New Delhi and asked him to submit all the details within this week, while apprising the commission of the administrative and security strengths of this year.

According to Dr Ayyangar, apart from these, the commission had also sought the booth profiles and segment-wise voters' status, while asking to publish the final electoral roll by January 2 next year with the latest figures.

ECI had also indicated that the Ninth Tripura Assembly Elections would be held with Meghalaya and Nagaland sometime in February next, Dr Ayyangar stated.
