Light showers in Delhi shoot up mercury to 14 Deg C

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Light showers hit the capital city today, maintaining the relief from chill and resulting in the shooting up of mercury to 14 degrees celsius, five degrees above normal.

The showers, which weathermen said were induced by a Western disturbance, led to a sharp rise in minimum temperature from 12.5 degree celsius to 14 degrees celsius.

The rainfall also led to a drop in maximum temperature to 24.1 degree celsius.

The rise in minimum temperature continued the relief from chill experienced by people of the city over the past few days.

The chill could return in the coming week with the weathwermen forecasting a drop in minimum temperature in Delhi beginning tomorrow.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with fall in night temperature from tomorrow. They have also forecast a drop in minimum temperature to 11 degree celsius tomorrow.
