Hyundai Motors records 16.1% growth in November

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Auto maker Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said it recorded an overall growth of 16.1 per cent last month at 28,944 units as compared 24,932 units over the same period a year ago.

The company said in a statement that with the launch of new compact car i10 across the country, the domestic sales grew by 15.4 per cent at 19,052 units, while the exports grew by 17.3 per cent at 9,892 units over November last year.

HMIL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korea-based Hyundai Motor company, is the second largest car manufacturer in India.

HMIL, presently markets 26 variants of passenger cars in six segments, exports its products to 70 countries, including Italy, Germany, France, Latin American countries as well as African nations.

It said it is setting up its second plant, which will produce an additional 300,000 units per annum, raising HMIL's total production capacity to 600,000 units per annum by the end of this month.
