Don't privatise banks, airports, ports: CPI(ML)

Puducherry, Dec 3 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the CPI(ML) today urged the Centre not to privatise airports, nationalised banks, sea ports and public sector undertakings, among others.

In a statement here, party state secretary S Balasubramanian urged the territorial administration to drop the proposal to expand the Puducherry airport, construct a new airport in Karaikal and take steps for the modernisation of the textile mills here.

Putting forth several demands, including the implementation of the land ceiling act and not to commercialise the education and health sectors, Mr Balasubramanian said the party would organise a demonstration tomorrow at Brindavan here.
