BJP expels nine rebels, accepts resignation of another in HP
Shimla, Dec 3 (UNI) The BJP today expelled nine rebels who are contesting elections against official party candidates and accepted the resignation of another from the party on the last date of withdrawal of candidature in the Himachal Pradesh elections, to be held on December 19.
The leaders were expelled from the party for six years for deciding to contest assembly elections against the party's official candidate, state president Jai Ram Thakur said in a release here.
He said the party also accepted senior party leader from Kullu district Karan Singh's resignation with immediate effect.
The candidates expelled from the party are Roop Dass (Kasumpati), Anita Dhiman (Gangath), Rakesh Pathania (Nurpur), Hira Lal (Karsog), Amar Singh Chauhan (Shillai), Vikram Jaryal (Bhattiyat), balbir Chaudhary (Shahpur), Naveen Kumar (Ghumarwin) and Harish Sharma (Mandi).
