Sixteen persons killed in jeep accident in HP

Shimla Dec 2 (UNI) Atleast sixteen members of marriage party were killed and young boy injured after a jeep beered off the road and fell into a gorge in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh last last night, Rampur DSP Man Singh Thakur said today.

Accident occurred at Keku, 157 kms from here, on the Sainj-Bethal road at about 2100 hours, he told UNI here.

Mr Thakur said the vehicle was on its way to Kumarsain from Nirmand in the district when the tempo trax rolled into the gorge.

The young boy, who servived the accident has been admitted to a Government hospital at Khanery.
