Police deployed in church after theft of Cross

Hoshiarpur, Dec 2 (UNI) Some miscreants stole a holy cross from the prayer tower of Mona Memorial CNI Church here last night, police said today.

The theft of the two-and-a-half-foot high and one-and-a-half-foot wide sacred cross was noticed when some devotees went to the church late last night to clean the complex for the Sunday Mass.

The General Secretary of the church management Rohit Rai, informed the police which has registered a case under section 379 of the IPC.

The Police has also deployed a police contingent in the church as a precautionary measure in view of the Christmas festival.
