LS mourns death of former members T A Patil, Channaiah Odeyar

New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today stood in silence for a minute as a mark of respect to two former members, Mr T A Patil and Mr Channaiah Odeyar who died during the intersession period.

Earlier, recalling the contribution of the two parliamentarians, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee informed the House that Mr Patil was a member of the third, fourth and fifth Lok Sabha from 1962 to 1977, representing Osmanabad Parliamentary constituency in Maharashtra.

Mr Odeyar was a member of the eighth, ninth and tenth Lok Sabha from 1984 to 1996, representing Davangere Parliamentary constituency in Karnataka.

While Mr Patil passed away on October 17, 2007 at Latur in Maharashtra, Mr Odeyar died on November 19 at Bangalore, he said.
