Steps on to make tax collection vigorous: Thomas Issac

Kottayam, Dec 1 (UNI) Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Issac today said steps were being taken to make tax collection more vigorous in the state.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the government had set a target of Rs 10,000 crore from VAT this fiscal.

To streamline tax collection, he said steps were taken to sort out check post declarations of the last three years.

The declarations would be counterchecked with trader's tax returns to find out tax evasion, he added.
