Site for proposed IIT inspected in Kilord

Sonepat, Dec 1 (UNI) A high level team of Technical Education Department of Haryana inspected a site of around 160 acres of area near Kilord village for setting up an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

The team led by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary of the department Ajit M Saran inspected the land on Thursday, which is donated by the gram panchayat of Kilord village. The panchayat assured the team that if more land was required, it would be donated.

Mr Saran had asked the DC to prepare a site plan of the area and send it to him.

The central government has sanctioned to set up an IIT in Haryana as a part of its programme to promote technical education keeping in view the future requirements.
