No district official can collect funds

Chandigarh, Dec 1 The Punjab Government has instructed district administrations to ensure that no official collected funds in the name of philanthropic, cultural or sports activities and also for Red Cross Society.

Disclosing this here on Nov 30, a Government spokesman said the Chief Minister had expressed his strong desire that no funds in the garb of any programme/activity should be collected from members of the public visiting Government offices for various jobs.

The Deputy Commissioner will personally ensure compliance of instructions issued in this regard, he said.

He said the Government attached great importance and laid stress on providing transparent and corruption-free administration to people in the state.
