Haryana Govt to focus on job oriented courses

Chandigarh, Dec 1 (UNI) The Haryana government has sanctioned Rs one crore in the current financial year to introduce job oriented courses in government colleges of the state.

Haryana Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said here today that a number of job oriented courses had been introduced in the government colleges to enable the students to obtain jobs after completing such courses.

The courses introduced in the colleges include Bachelor of Tourism Management, Bachelor of Information Management, Bio Technology, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computer Application, Bachelor of Mass Communication and Industrial Microbiology and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application.

The Education Minister said that a soft skill scheme had also been implemented in the government colleges to promote information technology. Under the scheme, Rs 10 lakh had been earmarked in the current financial.

He said that Haryana Education Department had also decided to run the soft skills programme in all the government colleges of the state by running soft skill DVDs of 128 hours through EDUSAT.
