AP Cabinet approves revenue sharing in ecotourism project

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today approved the revenue sharing agreement for the ecotourism project at Kothaguda reserve forests in Rangareddy district, being taken up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

State Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy told reporters here that the project involved the development of a botanical garden in 128.07 acre by De Lara Tourism Corporation, night safari in 45.1 acres by Trac India Private Ltd and bird park in 30.71 acres by Hyderabad Bird Park and Gardens Private Ltd.

He said 15 per cent of 270 acre of land allotted for the ecotourism project could be utilised for commercial activity, adhering to the conditions laid down by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.

Under the project, the land and assets developed thereupon would remain with the state, he said, adding that the developers were not permitted to hypothecate the land and assets created thereupon to any financial institution for obtaining additional finance.
