Zilla Parishads urge CM to release more funds
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (UNI) The chairpersons of Zilla Parishads in Andhra Pradesh today urged Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to release more funds and devolve more powers to Zilla Parishads.
According to an official release here, the chairpersons met the Chief Minister and apprised him that the revenue of Zilla Parishads was badly hit due to formation of a large number of municipal corporations and municipalities.
They said the revenue from stamp duties was now going to municipalities and corporations rather than the Zila Parishads.
They pointed out that there was lack of coordination in assessing the number of teachers and additional class rooms required for schools under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan(SSA), the release added.
